PROMOTER 101 PODCAST
Hosts Dan Steinberg and W. Luke Pierce have been running this weekly (now semiweekly) podcast since 2016. Dan interviews legends of the global touring industry, including AGI’s Marsha Vlasic and I happened to be the support act on that episode. Here’s the link to my part:
HOUSE OF BLUES FOUNDATION’S MUSIC FORWARD PANEL
The HOB Foundation runs an annual Music Forward program that teaches high school aged bands the ropes of on-stage performances through workshops, competitions and panel discussions. I participated in one of the first panels live to seven HOB venues in the US from Live Nation studios in Hollywood. In the interests of time, the attached You Tube video has been edited to include just what I had to say. After all, this is my website.
MUSIC BUSINESS RADIO
David Hooper is the founder and longtime host of the Music Business Radio show since 2005. I stopped by the Lightning 100 radio studios here in Nashville to talk about my book - The Singer/Songwriter Rule Book: 101 Ways To Help You Improve Your Chances Of Success - and how that came about thanks to my 30+ years working in the live music performance arena. My thanks also go out to Lightning 100's VP Programming Gary Kraen and PD Lt. Dan Buckley, as well as the show's Producer and Editor extraordinaire Ryan McFadden for somehow making me sound smart. THE BUSINESS SIDE OF MUSIC PODCAST
What a hoot to share the mic with Nashville-based industry vet Bob Bender (and his lovely wife Debbie) for the 40th episode of Bob's "The Business Side of Music" podcast. We discover that we both played string bass in school, were tour managers at one time and record label artist development reps as well. Here’s the link:
FROM ME TO YOU – NASHVILLE’S ONLY BEATLES RADIO SHOW
What a cool thing to be the on-air guest on Nashville's only radio show dedicated to the music of the Beatles - "From Me To You" - with the knowledgeable and congenial host Richard Courtney and producer extraordinaire Claudine Iannucci. The show aired on Hippie Radio 94.5 FM. And now it is available on demand seemingly forever and easily accessible through the link below.
SPREAD THE POSITIVITY PODCAST
“This was truly an incredible experience speaking with Larry Butler of Did It Music here in Nashville. I could have talked with Larry for another couple of hours. His stories and insight on not only everything in the music industry but just life in general is something I am really thankful we got recorded. Larry dropped some real knowledge on so much about everything Spread The Positive really is. Huge shout out to Lisa Harless with Regions Bank, for connecting us with Larry. Lisa is such an amazing lady and has helped us here at Spread The Positive so much. We are super grateful for all of it.” - Trent Denson, Nashville’s Spread The Positive podcast
MUSIC CONNECTION PODCAST TIP JAR
The Music Connection Podcast, hosted by Randy Thomas and Arnie Wohl, is the online audio complement to LA’s longtime (since 1977) Music Connection magazine. Among the artist interviews and concert reviews presented every week is a feature they call the Tip Jar. In it some industry expert (I being the sole exception) gives advice to musicians and performers in the furtherance of their careers. So, I came up with my Top Five Tips to Success.
